RESOLUTION AWARDING BID
WELL NOS. 2 AND 5 MAINTENANCE PROJECT
CITY PROJECT NO. 7109
WHEREAS, pursuant to an advertisement for bids for Well Nos. 2 and 5 Maintenance Project
and all necessary appurtenances, bids were received, opened and tabulated according to law, and
the following bids were received complying with the advertisement:

WHEREAS, Keys Well Drilling Company submitted the lowest base bid, but did not submit a
bid for Alternate No. 2; and
WHEREAS, the Engineer considers a no -bid for Alternate No. 2, a bid which does not comply
with the minimum specifications; and
WHEREAS, it appears that E.H. Renner & Sons, Inc., of Elk River, MN is the second lowest
responsible bidder, complying with the minimum specifications;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF PLYMOUTH, MINNESOTA:
1. The Mayor and City Manager are hereby authorized and directed to enter into the contract
with E.H. Renner & Sons, Inc. of Elk River, MN in the name of the City of Plymouth for
Well Nos. 2 and 5 Maintenance Project according to the plans and specifications therefore
approved by the City Council and on file in the office of the City Engineer in the Base Bid
amount of $193,489.
2. The City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to return forthwith to all bidders the
deposits made with their bids, except that the deposits of the successful bidder and the next
lowest bidder shall be retained until a contract has been signed.
3. Funding will be from the operating Water Fund budget in the amount of $40,000 (Water
Production, Fund 501-1720, Item 1722, "Pull Wells") and $180,000 in the draft 2007-2011
CIP (CIP Project 07-W-004).
