HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council Resolution 2008-266CITY OF PLYMOUTH RESOLUTION NO. 2008-266 RESOLUTION DECLARING COST TO BE ASSESSED AND ORDERING PREPARATION OF PROPOSED ASSESSMENT FERNBROOK LANE STREET IMPROVEMENTS CITY PROJECT NO. 1013 WHEREAS, a contract has been let for the improvement of Fernbrook Lane from approx. 700 feet south of 27t1' Ave to approx. 650 feet north of 34th Ave. by the reconstruction of Fernbrook Lane by the installation of turn lanes at the intersections of 34th Avenue, Harbor Lane, Highway 55, and 27th Avenue along with revisions to the existing storm drainage system and to the traffic signal system at Highway 55, and the installation of permanent traffic signal systems at Harbor Lane and 27th Avenue, and all necessary appurtenances and the final contract price for such improvement is $3,985,760 and the expenses incurred or to be incurred in the making of said improvement amount to $1,997,312 so the total cost of the improvement will be $5,983,072. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH, MINNESOTA: 1. The portion of the cost of such improvement to be paid by the City of Plymouth is hereby declared to be $5,663,095 and the portion of the cost to be assessed against benefited property owners is declared to be $319,977. 2. The City Clerk, with the assistance of the City Engineer, shall forthwith calculate the proper amount to be special assessed from such improvement against every accessible lot, piece or parcel of land within the district affected, without regard to cash valuation, as provided by the law, and shall file a copy of such proposed assessment in the office for public inspection. 3. The Clerk shall upon completion of such proposed assessment notify the City Council thereof. Adopted by the City Council on September 9, 2008.
