HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council Resolution 2008-249CITY OF PLYMOUTH RESOLUTION 2008-249 APPROVING FINDINGS OF FACT FOR AMENDING THE ZONING ORDINANCE TEXT FOR THE SHOPS AT PLYMOUTH CREEK PUD FOR ADDITIONAL SIGNAGE FOR THE M & I BANK BUILDING LOCATED AT 3245 VICKSBURG LANE NORTH (2008044) WHEREAS, M & I Banks Minnesota has requested a PUD (Planned Unit Development) amendment for additional signage for property located at 3245 Vicksburg Lane North and legally described as Lot 3, Block 1, Shops at Plymouth Creek, Hennepin County, Minnesota. WHEREAS, the Plymouth Zoning Ordinance requires a text amendment for a PUD amendment; and WHEREAS, the Planning Commission has reviewed said request at a duly called public hearing and recommends approval; and WHEREAS, the City Council has adopted an ordinance amending the Zoning Ordinance text. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH, MINNESOTA, that it should and hereby does support and approve the request by M & I Banks Minnesota for a PUD amendment and related Zoning Ordinance text amendment, based on the following findings: 1. The amendment is consistent with the City's Comprehensive Plan, as well as with the goals and intent of the PUD signage regulations. 2. The proposed signage would not be visible from the residential areas to the south and would not result in any additional freestanding signage. 3. The proposed wall signage on the north elevation would help to identify the building from the Highway 55/Vicksburg Lane intersection. ADOPTED by the City Council on August 26, 2008.
