HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council Resolution 2008-200CITY OF PLYMOUTH RESOLUTION 2008-200 APPROVING PLANS AND SPECIFICATION AND ORDERING ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS 2008 TRAIL IMPROVEMENT PROJECT CITY PROJECT 8112 WHEREAS, the City's Capital Improvement allocates fiinding for annual improvements to the City's trail system, and WHEREAS, the Park and Recreation Advisory Commission reviewed seven different projects for possible work in 2008, and WHEREAS, the Park and Recreation Advisory Commission is recommending a trail on Old Rockford Road between Peony Lane and Vagabond Lane, and WHEREAS, plans and specifications have been prepared by the City's Engineering Staff, for the 2008 Trail Improvement Project in the City of Plymouth and said plans and specifications have been presented to the Council for approval; and WHEREAS, the Director of Park and Recreation concurs with this recommendation, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY APPROVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL for the CITY OF PLYMOUTH, MINNESOTA: 1. The 2008 Trail Improvement Project on Old Rockford Road between Peony Lane and Vagabond Lane is hereby authorized to be completed and fiirther, that fiinding for the project will be taken from park dedication fiinds in the amount of $155,780. 2. Such plans and specifications, a copy of which is on file in the City Engineer's office and made a part hereof, are hereby approved. 3. The City Clerk shall prepare and cause to be inserted in the official paper and in The Constriction Bulletin an advertisement for bids upon the making of such improvement under such approved plans and specifications. The advertisement shall be published twice, shall specify the work to be done, shall state that bids will be received by the City Clerk until 10:00 a.m. on July 23, 2008 at which time they will be publicly opened in the Council Chambers of the Plymouth City Center building at 3400 Plymouth Boulevard, Plymouth, Minnesota, by the City Engineer and that no bids will be considered unless sealed and filed with the City Clerk and accompanied by a cash deposit, cashier's check, bid bond or certified check payable to the City Clerk for five percent of the amount of such bid. Adopted by the City Council on June 24, 2008.
