Resolution 2008-194
Repealing Policy Relating to Youth Advisory Council
WHEREAS, the City Council established a Youth Advisory Council in 1998; and
WHEREAS, the Youth Advisory Council has provided the City Council with a youth perspective
on city issues, as well as planned youth leadership events in the community; and
WHEREAS, the membership, role, and direction of the Youth Advisory Council has evolved over
10 years; and
WHEREAS, the current programs hosted by the Youth Advisory Council could be more
efficiently planned and conducted by recreation and administrative service staff with ad hoc youth
involvement; and
WHEREAS, the City Council can receive youth perspective on future issues from established
community groups, such as student councils, student service groups, diversity groups, and other
youth in the community.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Plymouth City Council that Resolution 2007-
029 (Policy Relating to Youth Advisory Council, Its Membership, Officers, Meetings, and Duties)
is hereby repealed.
Adopted by the Plymouth City Council on June 24, 2008.
