HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council Resolution 2008-150CITY OF PLYMOUTH RESOLUTION NO. 2008-150 APPROVING REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS FOR COMPREHENSIVE MUNICIPAL RECYCLING SERVICES WHEREAS, the City of Plymouth has provided residential curbside and drop off recycling services for its residents since 1986, in compliance with Hennepin County Ordinance 13; and WHEREAS, the present three-year extension of the contract for these services with Waste Management, Inc. expires on December 31, 2008; and WHEREAS, on March 18, 2008, the Plymouth City Council directed staff to continue to develop a Request for Proposals (RFP) for recycling services; and WHEREAS, the draft RFP is a comprehensive approach to the solid waste program to provide basic services, increase recycling opportunities and include waste abatement initiatives; and WHEREAS, the recycling program elements included in the draft RFP include: residential curbside collection, drop-off site collection, collection at multi -family dwellings, collection at designated commercial and institutional buildings, and service capabilities for source separated organics. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH, MINNESOTA: That the City Council hereby approves the Request for Proposal for Comprehensive Municipal Recycling Services for public notice and distribution to interested parties. Adopted by the City Council on April 22, 2008. STATE OF MINNESOTA) COUNTY OF HENNEPIN) SS.
