RESOLUTION NO. 2008-005
APPROVING 2008-2009 TREE REMOVAL, STREET
TREE TRIMMING AND HAULING CONRACT
WHEREAS, the Forestry Division will act on the 2008-2009 Tree Removal, Street Tree
Trimming and Hauling on City owned lands; and
WHEREAS, in accordance with City bid, specifications were proposed and distributed
and bid proposals were received and opened on January 3, 2006; and
WHEREAS, S&S Tree and Horticultural Specialists was awarded the previous contract
based on lowest responsible bidder; and
WHEREAS, S&S Tree and Horticultural Specialists completed the contract in an
excellent manner with little or no residents complaints, while also providing timely
emergency service during storms; and
WHEREAS, a renewal clause was included in the original contract,
WHEREAS, both parties have agreed to extend the contract for another two years with a
mutually agreed upon three percent cost of living increase for each additional year.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF PLYMOUTH, that it should, and hereby does, renew the contract of S&S Tree
and Horticultural Specialists for fiscal years 2008-2009. Further, that fiinds are
authorized from account No's. 101-1330-7517 and 101-1330-7518 not to exceed
$134,000.
