AN ORDINANCE RELATING TO LIQUOR LICENSING AND MINIMUM DISTANCE
FROM CHURCHES AND AMENDING SUBSECTION 1206.45 OF THE PLYMOUTH
CITY CODE
THE PLYMOUTH CITY COUNCIL ORDAINS:
Section 1. Plymouth City Code, Subsection 1206.45 is
amended to read:
1206.45. Distance From SchoolNo on -sale or
off -sale intoxicating liquor license or club license may be
granted within the same block of any school er ehureh or
within 500 feet of any school. er ehureh The distances
established herein, shall be measured in line from the
freestanding parcel or lot upon which the business is to be
licensed is located or from the exterior wall of the
approved area leased or owned by the business to be licensed
within a shopping center to the nearest point of the parcel
or lot upon which the school or church is located. The
erection of a school or chureh within the prohibited area
after the original license application has been granted
shall not, in and of itself, render such premises ineligible
for renewal of the license.
Section 2. This ordinance shall become effective upon
publication in accordance with Plymouth City Code 110.11.
