AN ORDINANCE RELATING TO PUBLIC SAFETY AND
LICENSING FOR SOLICITORS, PEDDLERS, AND TRANSIENT
MERCHANTS; AMENDING SECTION 1140 OF THE PLYMOUTH CITY CODE
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH ORDAINS:
Section 1. Plymouth City Code, Subsection 1140.03, is
amended to read:
_Registration Required. No peddler, solicitor or transient
merchant shall sell or offer for sale any goods, wares, or
merchandise within the City unless a license therefor shall
first be secured as provided in this Section. The
nonrefundable registration fee is set by Chapter X. No
transient produce merchant shall engage in or transact in
any temporary and transient business within the City, selling
the products of the farm or garden occupied and cultivated
by that person without first securing registration as
provided in this Section.
Sec. 2. Plymouth City Code, Subsection 1140.13, is amended
to read:
Practices Prohibited. No peddler, solicitor or transient
merchant shall call attention to his business or to his
merchandise, by crying out, by blowing a horn, by ringing a
bell, or by any loud or unusual noise in areas zoned for
residential use. No peddler, solicitor, or transient
merchant shall harass, intimidate, abuse, or threaten a
person or continue to offer merchandise for sale to anv

Sec. 4. This ordinance is effective on the date of its
publication in accordance with Subsection 110.11.
