AN ORDINANCE RELATING TO SOLICITORS, PEDDLERS and TRANSIENT
MERCHANTS AND AMENDING SECTION 1140 OF THE PLYMOUTH CITY CODE:
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH ORDAINS:
Sec. 1. The Plymouth City Code Section 1140 entitled
"Solicitors, Peddlers and Transient Merchants" is hereby amended
to be entitled "Solicitors and Peddlers."
Sec. 2. The Plymouth City Code, Subsection 1140.01, Subd.
2, is amended to read:
Subd. 2. "Peddler" means a person who --" ` no 6449Q&
goes from house to house, from place
to place, or from store to store conveying or
transporting goods, wares or merchandise or offering
or exposing the same for sale or making sales and
delivering articles to purchasers.
Sec. 3. The Plymouth City Code, Subsection 1140.03 is
hereby amended to read:
1140.03. Registration Required. No peddler, or
solicitor ^r `r-a^s PE` m "'`'""` shall sell or offer
for sale any goods, wares, or merchandise within the
City unless a license therefor shall first be secured
as provided in this Section. The non-refundable
registration fee is set by Chapter X. Any Peddler or

Sec. 4. The Plymouth City Code, Subsection 1140.07 is
amended to read:
1140.07. Exemptions. This Section does not apply to
persons engaged in the following activities:
(a) selling personal property at wholesale to
dealers in such articles;
(b) aGtiA^ as ature
of any kind;
(c) selling products of the farm or garden on
the property on which the products are grown
and cultivated. A person claiming this
exemption must submit a written affidavit
indicating that the products to be. sold were
grown on property where the sales are
occurring. (Amended, Ord. No. 86-08, Sec.

products; this exception does not relieve
such person of the duty of compliance with
any other applicable provision of this Code_
(e) calling upon householders at the request of
said householders.
Sec. 5. This ordinance is effective upon its passage and
publication in accordance with Section 110.11.
