AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 4, BUILDING, HOUSING AND
CONSTRUCTION REGULATIONS, OF THE PLYMOUTH CITY CODE SECTION 400,
BUILDING CODE
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH DOES HEREBY ORDAIN AS
FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Plymouth City Code, Subsection 400.01, Subd. 2. (a) is repealed.
Section 2. The Plymouth City Code, Subsection 400.01, Subd. 2. (a) is amended by adding a
new subsection to read: As provided in the 1995 Minnesota State Building Code, the
following are hereby adopted by reference:
(1) Minnesota Building Code, identified in the Minnesota State Building Code as
Chapter 1300.
(2) Building Official Certification, identified in the Minnesota State Building Code
as Chapter 1301.
(3) State Building Construction Approvals, identified in the Minnesota State
Building Code as Chapter 1302.
(4) 1994 Edition of the Uniform Building Code, identified as "UBC".
(5) 1994 Uniform Building Code Appendix Chapters:
3, Division I, (Detention and Correctional Facilities)
12, Division II, (Sound Transmission Control)
29, (Minimum Plumbing Fixtures)
(6) Elevators and Related Devices, identified in the Minnesota State Building Code
as Chapter 1307.
(7) 1993 Edition of the National Electrical Code, identified in the Minnesota State
Building Code as Chapter 1315.
(8) Solar Energy Systems, identified in the Minnesota State Building Code as
Chapter 1325.
(9) Fallout Shelters, identified in the Minnesota State Building Code as Chapter
1330.
(10) Flood Proofing Regulations, identified in the Minnesota State Building Code as
Chapter 1335.
(11) Facilities for the Handicapped, identified in the Minnesota State Building Code
as Chapter 1340.
(12) 1991 Edition of the Uniform Mechanical Code, identified in the Minnesota State
Building Code as Chapter 1346.
(13) Manufactured Homes, identified in the Minnesota State Building Code as
Chapter 1350.
(14) Prefabricated Buildings, identified in the Minnesota State Building Code as
Chapter 1360.
(15) Snow Loads, identified in the Minnesota Sate Building Code as Chapter 1365.
(16) Storm Shelters, identified in the Minnesota State Building Code as Chapter
1370.
(17) Minnesota Plumbing Code, identified in the Minnesota State Building Code as
Chapter 4715.
(18) Minnesota Energy Code, identified in the Minnesota State Building Code as
Chapter 7670.
Section 3. Plymouth City Code, Subsection 400.01, Subd. 2. (b) (1) is amended to read:
(1) The following Chapters from the V988 1994 UBC appendix:
Chapter -33- 31, Division 11, (Membrane Structures)
Chapter -7-0-33 (Excavation and Grading)
Section 4 Plymouth City Code, Chapter 4, Subsection 400.01, Subd. 3 is amended to read:
Subd. 3. Organization and Enforcement. The organization of the Building Department and
enforcement of the code shall be conducted within the guidelines established by Chapter -2 1 of
the Uniform Building Code 4.988 1994 edition.
Section 6. This ordinance is effective on adoption and publication.
