R ESOLUTION N O. 2024-094
R ESOLUTION A PPROVING C OOPERATIVE A GREEMENT FOR THE
H IGHWAY 169 B RIDGE R EPLACEMENT AT 36 TH A VENUE P ROJECT 2772-125 (ST250002)
WHEREAS, the State of Minnesota (MnDOT) has scheduled the replacement of the Trunk
Highway 169 bridge at 36th Avenue in the cities of Plymouth and New Hope in 2024; and
WHEREAS, with Plymouth supports the improvements needed within the corridor; and
WHEREAS, Plymouth will cost share with traffic signal, sidewalk, engineering, and oversight
costs identified in the agreement and per state practices; and
WHEREAS, Plymouth will be responsible for maintenance of traffic signal, trail and sidewalk
items identified in the agreement, per state practices; and
WHEREAS, Cooperative Agreement No. 1052897 is a three-party agreement between the City of
Plymouth, MnDOT, and the City of New Hope.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH,
MINNESOTA:
1. The City of Plymouth enter into MnDOT Agreement No. 1052897 with the State of
Minnesota Department of Transportation to provide payment by the City of Plymouth to the
State of the City of Plymouth’s share of the costs of the sidewalk, signal system, and state
furnished materials and other associated construction to be performed upon, along, and
adjacent to Trunk Highway No. 169 within the corporate limits of the City of Plymouth under
State Project No. 2723-144 and State Aid Project No. 155-162-005.
2. The Public Works Director, or their designee, is authorized and directed to finalize the terms
of the Agreement with the State.
3. The Mayor and City Manager are authorized and directed to execute the final Agreement as
negotiated by the Public Works Director, or their designee, and any amendments to the
Agreement.
4. The estimated total cost of the project is $217,206.36 which includes the improvements
outlined in the MnDOT Agreement ($201,117), and 8% construction engineering
($16,089.36).
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the project would be funded from the Street Reconstruction
Fund in the amount of $217,206.36.
