R ESOLUTION A PPROVING A G RANT A GREEMENT WITH THE M INNESOTA D EPARTMENT OF
P UBLIC S AFETY FOR THE P ROJECT U RBAN A REA S ECURITY I NITIATIVE (UASI) G RANT
WHEREAS, the Minnesota Department of Public Safety, Office of Traffic Safety, has established the
Urban Area Security Initiative, which enables police departments to procure resources to aid in combating
extreme violence and terrorism; and
WHEREAS, the City of Plymouth has identified a need for specialized equipment designed to
increase safety for officers and the public during high-risk incidents; and
WHEREAS, the grant request of $34,000 was approved and awarded to the City of Plymouth by
the Minnesota Department of Public Safety, Department of Homeland Security and Emergency
Management.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH,
MINNESOTA that the grant agreement with the Minnesota Department of Public Safety, Department of
Homeland Security and Emergency Management is approved and the Mayor and City Manager are
authorized to execute said agreement.
