R ESOLUTION N O. 2024-007
R ESOLUTION A PPROVING T REE M AINTENANCE C ONTRACT FOR 2024-2025 WITH
O STVIG T REE I NC.
WHEREAS, the Park and Forestry Division will act on the Tree Maintenance Contract for 2024-
2025 on city owned lands program; and
WHEREAS, the city has prepared specifications, advertised, received and opened bids on
December 1, 2023 at 10:00 am; and
WHEREAS, the following bids were received; and
Contractor Contract Price
Ostvig Tree Inc. $ 263,575.00
Davey Tree Expert Company $ 270,500.00
Shadywood Tree Experts $ 498,416.50
WHEREAS, Ostvig Tree Inc.’s qualifications and work performance are compliant with the city’s
responsible bidder qualification policy; and
WHEREAS, based on bid amounts, staff recommends accepting the bid from Ostvig Tree Inc.;
and
WHEREAS, the funding for tree maintenance is included in the Parks & Forestry operations
budget in line item 100-40-411-41100-7500.300 in the amount of $200,000 annually.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH,
MINNESOTA, to award the Tree Maintenance Contract for 2024-2025 to Ostvig Tree Inc.
Approved by the City Council on this 9th day of January, 2024.
