HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council Resolution 2023-179 C ITY OF P LYMOUTH R ESOLUTION N O. 2023-179 R ESOLUTION A PPROVING A GREEMENT WITH M ETROPOLITAN C OUNCIL E NVIRONMENTAL S ERVICES FOR THE 2020 M UNICIPAL I NFLOW/I NFILTRATION G RANT P ROGRAM WHEREAS, the Minnesota State Legislature has appropriated $5 million in bonding bill funding for municipalities to reduce inflow and infiltration in their public wastewater system infrastructure through the 2020 Municipal Inflow/Infiltration Grant Program administered by Metropolitan Council Environmental Services (MCES); and WHEREAS, MCES is offering a preliminary minimum allocation of $25,000 for each eligible city, with provisions for distribution of remaining funds proportionally to submitted eligible project costs until all $5 million in available funding has been allocated; and WHEREAS, the city has submitted $1,098,467 in capital costs for sanitary sewer projects that reduce inflow and infiltration for reimbursement under the MCES grant program; and WHEREAS, MCES has calculated the city’s grant amount to be $100,782; and WHEREAS, an agreement with MCES is required to participate in the grant program and receive grant funding. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH, MINNESOTA that the agreement with Metropolitan Council Environmental Services for the 2020 Municipal Inflow/Infiltration Grant Program is approved. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the $100,782 in funding received from participation in the 2020 Municipal Inflow/Infiltration Grant Program will reimburse the Sewer Fund. APPROVED by the City Council on this 25th day of July 2023.
