R ESOLUTION N O. 2023-142
R ESOLUTION A PPROVING P URCHASE OF P OLICE D EPARTMENT E QUIPMENT
U TILIZING THE R ESOURCE A LLOCATION A CCOUNT
WHEREAS, the police department requires all sworn officers to have access to an electronic
incapacitation device, known as a Taser; and
WHEREAS, the police department has entered into a five-year contract with Axon Enterprise Inc. to
spread the cost of the Tasers over the next five years; and
WHEREAS, this is the third year of our obligation and an annual budget payment is due in 2023; and
WHEREAS, the contract will require two additional payment installments in years 2024 and 2025;
and
WHEREAS, the city has dedicated funds available in the Resource Allocation Account, reserved for
these types of purchases.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH,
MINNESOTA that the police department be authorized to utilize money from the Resource Allocation
Account to make its annual budget payments for years three, four, and five to Axon Enterprise Inc. per the
contract.
