HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council Resolution 2023-095 C ITY OF P LYMOUTH R ESOLUTION N O. 2023-095 R ESOLUTION R ECEIVING P RELIMINARY E NGINEERING R EPORT, O RDERING P REPARATION OF P LANS AND S PECIFICATIONS, AND C ALLING FOR A P UBLIC H EARING FOR THE N ATHAN L ANE A REA P AVEMENT R EHABILITATION P ROJECT (ST249005) WHEREAS, pursuant to a resolution of the City Council adopted March 30, 2023, a report has been prepared with reference to the recommended project area including Nathan Lane between 51st Avenue and Bass Lake Road, 56th Avenue between Nathan Lane and Highway 169 Service Drive, 54th Avenue between Nathan Lane and Highway 169 Service Drive, and Highway 169 Service Drive between 56th Avenue and Schmidt Lake Road; and WHEREAS, the proposed improvement includes full depth reclamation of streets, reconstruction of streets, installation and replacement of concrete curb and gutter, trail construction, water main repairs, storm sewer installation and repairs, sanitary sewer repairs, and all necessary appurtenances; and WHEREAS, said report is being received by the Council on March 30, 2023; and WHEREAS, the report provides information regarding whether the proposed project is necessary, cost effective, and feasible; whether it should best be made as proposed or in connection with some other improvement; the estimated cost of the improvements as recommended; and a description of the methodology used to calculate individual assessments for affected parcels. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH, MINNESOTA: 1. The Council will consider the improvement of such streets in accordance with the report and the assessment of abutting and adjacent property within the designated Nathan Lane Area Pavement Rehabilitation Project, City Project No. ST249005, for all or a portion of the cost of the improvement pursuant to Minnesota Statutes 429.011 to 429.111 (Laws 1953, Chapter 398, as amended) at an estimated total cost of the improvement of $4,467,000.00. 2. A public hearing shall be held on such proposed improvement on the 23rd day of May, 2023, in the Council Chambers of the Plymouth City Center at 3400 Plymouth Boulevard at 7:00 p.m., and the Clerk shall give mailed and published notice of such hearing and improvements as required by law. 3. Bolton & Menk, Inc. has previously been designated as engineer for the improvement. They shall prepare plans and specifications for the making of such improvement. APPROVED by the City Council on this 30th day of March, 2023.
