RESOLUTION NO. 2018-
RESOLUTION AWARDING CONTRACT FOR THE MEDINA ROAD AND REVERE LANE TRAIL PROJECT
(PR189001.001 & PR189001.002)
WHEREAS, pursuant to an advertisement for bids for the Medina Road and Revere Lane Trail
Project, bids were received, opened and tabulated according to State law, and the following bids were
received complying with the advertisement:
WHEREAS, it appears that BKJ Excavating from Jordan, Minnesota, is the lowest responsible
bidder, complying with the minimum qualifications; and
WHEREAS, there was an error in the bid submitted by ASTECH which changed their bid from
$258,041.22 to $320,441.222; and
WHEREAS, the City Engineer recommends awarding the project to BKJ Excavating from Jordan,
Minnesota.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH,
MINNESOTA that:
1. The appropriate City Officials are authorized and directed to enter into the contract with BKJ
Excavating out of Jordan, MN, in the name of the City of Plymouth for the Medina Road and
Revere Lane Trail Project according to the plans and specifications therefore approved by the
City Council and on file in the office of the City Engineer in the amount of $308,327.75.
2. The bid submitted by ASTECH, is rejected.
3. The City Clerk is authorized and directed to return forthwith to all the bidders the deposits made
with their bids, except that the deposits of the successful bidder and the next lowest bidder shall
be retained until a contract has been signed.
4. The funding for this project would come from the Park Dedication Fund in the amount of
$323,744.14.
