HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council Resolution 2022-318 C ITY OF P LYMOUTH R ESOLUTION N O. 2022-318 R ESOLUTION D ESIGNATING C ONSULTING E NGINEER FOR THE S TATION 73 T RANSIT AND R EGIONAL I MPROVEMENT P ROGRAM (TRIP) P RELIMINARY D ESIGN (ST230003) WHEREAS, the Station 73 Transit and Regional Trail Improvement Program (TRIP) listed in the proposed 2022-2031 Capital Improvement Program; and WHEREAS, the project involves constructing pedestrian and regional bicycle trail systems, a Highway 55 pedestrian and bicycle underpass, inline bus platforms on Highway 55, improvements to South Shore Drive and 10th Avenue, realignment of CSAH 73, and Station 73 Transit Station mobility improvements; and WHEREAS, the project was identified in the Highway 55 Bus Rapid Transit station area improvement microstudy completed by the City; and WHEREAS, the trail connections contemplated with the project are supported by the Three Rivers Park District Bryant to Eagle Lake Regional Trail master plan; and WHEREAS, the improvements are supported by the County Road 73 and Highway 55 Small Area Study completed by the City; and WHEREAS, professional services for preliminary design and final design of improvements on Highway 55 have been approved by the City; and WHEREAS, Kimley-Horn was designed as the consulting engineering for the final design and bidding services of the improvements along Highway 55; and WHEREAS, a proposal was received and evaluated by staff; and WHEREAS, staff recommends Kimley-Horn be designated as the consulting engineer for the preliminary design services for the remaining phases of this project. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH, MINNESOTA that Kimley-Horn is designated as the City’s consulting engineer for the Station 73 Transit and Regional Improvement Project (TRIP) (ST230003) in the amount of $293,600. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the funding for this project shall be from the Transit Fund in the amount of $73,400 and Street Reconstruction Fund in the amount of $220,200. APPROVED by the City Council on this 13th day of December, 2022.
