R ESOLUTION A PPROVING A PPLICATION FOR THE M N DOT A CTIVE T RANSPORTATION
I NFRASTRUCTURE G RANT FOR THE C HANKAHDA T RAIL R ECONSTRUCTION P ROJECT –
P HASE 2 (ST230002)
WHEREAS, the MnDOT Active Transportation Infrastructure Grant provides $3.5 million
on a reimbursement basis to construct pedestrian and bicycle infrastructure; and
WHEREAS, a minimum of $50,000 and a maximum of $500,000 can be requested through the
grant program; and
WHEREAS, the Chankahda Trail Reconstruction Project – Phase 2 includes pedestrian and bicycle
improvements that will address safety hazards to walking and biking; and
WHEREAS, the Chankahda Trail Reconstruction Project – Phase 2 is included in the 2022-2031
CIP for construction in 2023 at an estimated cost of $9,550,000 and is supported by the City Council.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH,
MINNESOTA that submittal of Chankahda Trail Reconstruction Project – Phase 2 for the MnDOT Active
Transportation Infrastructure Grant in the amount of $500,000 is approved.
APPROVED by the City Council on this 13th day of December, 2022.
