HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council Resolution 2022-269 C ITY OF P LYMOUTH R ESOLUTION N O. 2022-269 R ESOLUTION A WARDING C ONTRACT FOR THE D EMOLITION OF THE F OUR S EASONS M ALL (ST230007) WHEREAS, pursuant to an advertisement for bids for the demolition of the Four Seasons Mall located at 4200 Lancaster Lane North, bids were received, opened and tabulated according to State law, and the following bids were received complying with the advertisement: CONTRACTOR BID AMOUNT Rachel Contracting, LLC $ 849,390.00 S.M. Hentges & Sons, Inc. $ 969,849.00 Veit & Company, Inc. $ 1,145,187.00 Ramsey Companies $ 1,256,427.00 Kevitt Excavating $ 1,346,000.00 Frattalone Companies $ 1,452,626.17 Carl Bolander & Sons $ 1,590,069.00 Carleton Companies, Inc. $ 1,731,100.00 WHEREAS, it appears that Rachel Contracting, LLC located in St. Michael, MN is the lowest responsible bidder, complying with the minimum qualifications; and WHEREAS, the Public Works Director and City Engineer recommend awarding the project to Rachel Contracting, LLC. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH, MINNESOTA: 1. The Mayor and City Manager are authorized and directed to enter into the contract with Rachel Contracting, LLC in the name of the City of Plymouth for the Demolition of the Four Seasons Mall Project according to the plans and specifications on file in the office of the City Engineer in the amount of $849,390.00. 2. The total cost of the project is $1,061,737.50, which includes the improvement ($849,390.00) with Rachel Contracting, LLC, 10% for engineering and administration ($84,939.00), and a 15% contingency ($127,408.50). BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the project would be funded from Transit Fund reserves in an amount of $1,061,737.50 with the understanding that the DEED Redevelopment Grant awarded in 2022 in an amount of $775,000.00 will help offset Transit Fund expenditures with qualifying costs per the DEED grant agreement. APPROVED by the City Council this 25th day of October, 2022.
