R ESOLUTION N O. 2022-260
R ESOLUTION A UTHORIZING THE P LYMOUTH P OLICE D EPARTMENT TO E NTER INTO AN A GREEMENT
WITH V IGILANT S OLUTIONS FOR A UTOMATED L ICENSE P LATE R EADER T ECHNOLOGY
WHEREAS, the Plymouth Police Department continues to research innovative solutions to safely
and efficiently address criminal activity; and
WHEREAS, the Police Department has experienced an increase in motor vehicles fleeing from
officers; and
WHEREAS, automotive license plate reader technology has been proven to be a safe and
effective tool to assist police in safely locating suspects of criminal activity, stolen vehicles or missing
and endangered persons; and
WHEREAS, the Police Department has identified Vigilant Solutions to provide automotive license
plate reader technology equipment and services.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH,
MINNESOTA that the contract agreement with Vigilant Solutions is approved and the Mayor and City
Manager are authorized to execute said agreement.
