R ESOLUTION A PPROVING THE 2023 P RELIMINARY B UDGET
WHEREAS, in 2007, the City Council directed staff to implement a biennial budget cycle with a
proposed current budget year and an in concept budget proposal; and
WHEREAS, the 2023 budget reflects the second year of the 2022/2023 biennial budget; and
WHEREAS, 2023 budget resolution and the accompanying proposed 2023 tax levies contained in
Resolution No. 2022- are submitted by the city in accordance with Minnesota Statutes and other
applicable laws in effect on this date.
THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH,
MINNESOTA that the preliminary 2023 operating budget for the General Fund funds are given approval
in the amount of $50,200,859.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Council approves surplus allocations in the amount of
$2,637,000 for the following capital related items:
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Council declares its intent to take all necessary actions
legally permissible to the submission and approval of the City’s General Fund budget and property tax
levies.
