R ESOLUTION A PPROVING C HANGE O RDERS AND F INAL P AYMENT TO
M C P HILLIPS B ROTHERS R OOFING C OMPANY FOR THE P LYMOUTH I CE C ENTER F ACILITIES
I MPROVEMENT P ROJECT (IC 160002)
WHEREAS, on January 26, 2021, the City Council authorized the advertisement of bids for facility
improvements at the Plymouth Ice Center; and
WHEREAS, on April 13, 2022, Council awarded the Plymouth Ice Center Facility
Improvement project to McPhillips Brothers Roofing Company with a bid of $1,018,970.00; and
WHEREAS, there were three change orders initiated on the project for a total of
$28,522.00. Change orders on the project included HVAC Air Duct resizing on Rink C Mechanical
Room for $13,607.00, stamped metal wall panels for store front windows for $13,230.00, and
new fiberglass insulation to parapet wall over Blue Line Meeting Room for $1,685.00; and
WHEREAS, staff and consultants (HjS Architecture) are recommending approval of the
change orders and final payment; and
WHEREAS, the Plymouth Ice Center Facility Improvements project was authorized at
$1,250,000.00 utilizing City Surplus Dollars ($1,050,000.00) and Plymouth Ice Center Fund
($200,000.00); and
WHEREAS, the overall project with construction costs, materials, and consultant fees is
$1,249,933.25, which is $66.75 under budget; and
WHEREAS, the final payment $50,948.50 to McPhillips Brothers Roofing Company for a
cumulative payment of $1,021,047.00.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH,
MINNESOTA, that the City Council hereby approves the change order and final payment to McPhillips
Brothers Roofing for the Plymouth Ice Center Facility Improvements Project (IC 160002).
APPROVED by the City Council on this 30th day of August 2022.
