R ESOLUTION N O. 2022-186
R ESOLUTION A PPROVING P URCHASE OF T ANDEM
A XLE D UMP T RUCK W ITH S NOW/I CE C ONTROL R ELATED E QUIPMENT
WHEREAS, the 2022-2031 Capital Improvement Program (CIP) and 2022 budget include the
replacement of a tandem axle dump truck with snow/ice control related equipment; and
WHEREAS, the City may make purchases through the state contracts; and
WHEREAS, Nuss Truck Group, dba Twin City Mack, has a contract with the state for the truck
chassis meeting the City’s specifications, State Contract No. T647(5); and
WHEREAS, Tow Master Inc. has a contract with the state for snowplow truck components and
accessories meeting the City’s specifications, State Contract No. 212541; and
WHEREAS, the disposal of the existing asset; one tandem axle unit, shall be through auction in
2024.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH,
MINNESOTA, that the purchase of one current model Tandem Axle Truck Chassis from Nuss Truck
Group, and the related equipment to complete the trucks with hauling and snowplowing/ice control
equipment from Towmaster Inc. is approved.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, the amount due to Nuss Truck Group is $136,929.00 for one truck
chassis, sales tax due to the state at registration for the chassis is $8,900.39, and the amount due to
Towmaster Inc. is $181,365.00 for one truck (no sales tax is due to Tow Master Inc.) for a total
expenditure of $327,194.39.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that funding would come from Central Equipment Fund in the amount
of $327,194.39.
