HomeMy WebLinkAboutPlanning Commission Minutes 04-12-2022 Special SessionApproved Minutes 1 of 2 Special Meeting of April 12, 2022 Approved Minutes Special Planning Commission Meeting Concurrent Meeting with City Council April 12, 2022 Mayor Wosje called a Special Meeting of the Plymouth City Council to order at 5:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers of Plymouth City Hall, 3400 Plymouth Boulevard, on April 12, 2022. PLYMO UTH COUNCIL PRESENT: Mayor Wosje , Councilmembers Carroll, Prom, Roehl, Davis, and McGregor. PLYMOUTH COUNCIL ABSENT: Councilmember Willis. PLYMOUTH STAFF PRESENT: City Manager Callister, Public Works Director Thompson, Deputy Public Works Director/City Engineer LaBounty, Community and Economic Development Director Parr, Public Safety Director Fadden, Fire Chief Coppa, Deputy Director Park and Recreation Thomlinson, Recreation Manager Hemp, Planning Manager McGuire, Senior Planner Sommers, Building Official Jenkins, Communications Manager Kastner, Historical Society Manager Coffman, and City Clerk/Administrative Coordinator Gallup. PLANNING COMMISSION PRESENT: Boo, Anderson, Olson, Gregor, Pointner PLANNING COMMISSION ABSENT: Oakley and Saba. Presentation on the County Road 73 Small Area Study Consultants Bryan Harjes and Brad Scheib with Hoisington Koegler Group Inc. (HKGI) presented an update on the County Road 73 Small Area Study by providing a project overview, redevelopment considerations, phase two community engagement feedback, recommendations, and implementation strategies. The Council and Planning Commissioners asked questions and provided feedback on the County Road 73 Small Area Study. Discuss Names for County Road 47 Communications Manager Kastner presented the Council with a list of the Council’s top choices from the public naming challenge for County Road 47. Council each discussed their top choices. Additional discussion took place on the permeance of a road name and not wanting to rush the process. Council directed staff to work with Historical Society Manager Coffman and Communications Manager Kastner to further research potential names honoring the Dakota people. Future Study Sessions Approved Minutes 2 of 2 Special Meeting of April 12, 2022 The following study session changes were made: • Schedule sketch plan review of Prudential site and Luedke property on May 10 at 5:00 p.m. • Change start time for April 26 ARPA Funds study session to 6 p.m. Adjournment Mayo r Wosje adjourned the meeting at 6:58 p.m.
