HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council Resolution 2022-055 C ITY OF P LYMOUTH R ESOLUTION N O. 2022-055 R ESOLUTION A WARDING C ONTRACT FOR H IDDEN L AKE AND B EACON H EIGHTS 2 ND S TREET R ECONSTRUCTION P ROJECT (ST229001) WHEREAS, pursuant to an advertisement for bids for the Hidden Lake and Beacon Heights 2nd Street Reconstruction Project, bids were received, opened and tabulated according to State law, and the following bids were received complying with the advertisement: Contractor Total Bid New Look Contracting, Inc. $4,446,077.90 Northwest Asphalt, Inc. $4,479,764.19 Park Construction Company $4,822,924.20 Geislinger & Sons, Inc. $4,845,752.50 GMH Asphalt Corporation $4,486,263.30 Meyer Contracting, Inc. $5,124,888.24 S.M. Hentges & Sons, Inc. $5,598,756.00 Engineers Estimate $4,148,516.60 WHEREAS, it appears that New Look Contracting, Inc. of Rogers, MN, is the lowest responsible bidder, complying with the minimum qualifications; and WHEREAS, the City Engineer recommends awarding the project to New Look Contracting, Inc. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH, MINNESOTA: 1. The Mayor and City Manager are authorized and directed to enter into the contract with New Look Contracting, Inc. of Rogers, MN, in the name of the City of Plymouth for the Hidden Lake and Beacon Heights 2nd Street Reconstruction Project according to the plans and specifications therefore approved by the City Council and on file in the office of the City Engineer in the amount of $4,446,077.90. 2. The total cost of the project is $5,385,293.48 and includes the improvements in the amount of $4,446,077.90, easement acquisition in the amount of $50,000.00, 15% engineering and administration in the amount of $666,911.69, and 5% contingency in the amount of $222,303.89. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the project would be funded from special assessments in the amount of $889,440.75, Street Reconstruction Fund in the amount of $2,534,753.73, Water Fund in the amount of $1,390,056.00, Sewer Fund in the amount of $144,390.00, Water Resources Fund in the Resolution 2022-055 Page 2 amount of $150,000.00, and the Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplemental Appropriations Act in the amount of $276,653.00. APPROVED by the City Council on this 22nd day of February, 2022.
