R ESOLUTION N O. 2022-032
R ESOLUTION A PPROVING W ATER T REATMENT C HEMICAL P RICES FOR 2022
WHEREAS, the City has prepared specifications, advertised, received bids, and opened bids on
January 27, 2022; and
WHEREAS, the following bids were received:
Item Hawkins, Inc. Shannon Corp.
Sodium Hypochlorite, 12.5%, bulk gallons $1.52 No Bid
Zinc Orthophosphate, mini-bulk $9.08 $18.47
Hydrofluosilicic Acid, 23-25%, mini-bulk $4.32 No Bid
Sodium Permanganate, 20%, NSF 60 $14.98 $23.37

Fluoride, mini-bulk $4.32 No Bid
LPC-9L, mini-bulk $9.08 $19.44
WHEREAS, Hawkins, Inc. and Shannon Chemical Corporation provided bids complying with the
minimum qualifications; and
WHEREAS, chemicals are typically purchased through the company with the lowest bid
price, but instances may come up where the City needs to purchase from another bidder; and
WHEREAS, the City Engineer recommends approving bids from both companies.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH,
MINNESOTA, that the bids submitted by Hawkins, Inc. of Roseville, Minnesota, and Shannon Chemical
Corp. of Malvern, Pennsylvania are accepted.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the funding shall be from the Water Fund in the amount of
$340,000.
APPROVED by the City Council on this 8th day of February 2022.
