R ESOLUTION N O. 2022-018
R ESOLUTION TO A UTHORIZE AN E XPENDITURE FROM
THE DWI R ESOURCE P LANNING F UND FOR T ECHNOLOGY U PGRADE
WHEREAS, the police department is in need of replacing 30 preliminary breath test units; and
WHEREAS, the police department is in need of replacing seven squad radar units; and
WHEREAS, breath testing technology has changed in recent years to allow for more efficient
and effective breath testing; and
WHEREAS, radar technology has changed in recent years to allow for more efficient and
effective speed readings; and
WHEREAS, the current equipment is at its end of life; and
WHEREAS, the City has dedicated funds available in the DWI Resource Planning Fund, reserved
for these types of purchases.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH,
MINNESOTA that the police department be authorized to utilize money from the DWI Resource
Planning Fund to purchase new preliminary breath test units and radar units.
