R ESOLUTION N O. 2021-339
R ESOLUTION A PPROVING THE C HANGE O RDER AND F INAL P AYMENT FOR P HASE F IVE
N ORTHWEST G REENWAY S HELTER P ROJECT (PR140005.200)
WHEREAS, in 2000, the City Council adopted the Northwest Greenway (NWG) Master Plan as
part of the City Comprehensive Plan; and
WHEREAS, the Phase Five project provided for the design and construction of the Peony
Lane South Trailhead; and
WHEREAS, this project was divided into two projects, earthwork and shelter building; and
WHEREAS, on November 26, 2019, City Council authorized the advertisement of bids for the
construction of the Northwest Greenway (NWG) shelter building project; and
WHEREAS, on March 24, 2020, Council awarded the NWG shelter building project to Versacon,
Inc with a bid of $1,625,600.00; and
WHEREAS, there were eight change orders initiated on the project for a total of $116,708.00
as follows; and
Helical Piles $40,983
Electrical/Conduit $ 4,599
Added Card Readers $ 1,795
Drain Tile $12,641
Steel, Mechanical, Hardware $ 9,272
Concrete Plaza $43,984
Fireplace Grate $ 2,225
Storage Room Electrical $ 1,209
WHEREAS, staff and consultants (Hagen, Christensen & McIlwain Architects and SRF Consulting)
are recommending approval of the change orders and final payment; and
WHEREAS, the Northwest Greenway project was authorized at $2,090,000.00 utilizing Park
Dedication Funds; and
WHEREAS, the overall project with construction costs, geotechnical inspections, furnishings,
signage, and consultant fees is $2,062,949.29 which is $27,050.71 under budget; and
WHEREAS, the final payment $5,000.00, to Versacon, Inc. for a cumulative payment of
$1,742,308.00.

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH,
MINNESOTA, that the City Council hereby approves the change order and final payment to Versacon,
Ince. for the Phase Five Northwest Greenway Shelter Project (PR 140005.200).
APPROVED by the City Council on this 14th day of December, 2021.
