HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council Resolution 2021-327 C ITY OF P LYMOUTH R ESOLUTION N O. 2021-327 R ESOLUTION A PPROVING C OMMUNICATION S ITE L EASE A GREEMENT WITH V ERIZON W IRELESS, A D ELAWARE G ENERAL P ARTNERSHIP FOR C ITY P ROPERTY LOCATED AT 5725 J UNEAU L ANE N ORTH WHEREAS, the City Council has previously adopted a policy statement regarding the use of City owned land for wireless telecommunication antennas and towers; and WHEREAS, the City purchased the property located at 5725 Juneau Lane North and intends to extend the Northwest Greenway Trail through a portion of the parcel at a future time; and WHEREAS, the communication site lease agreement for construction of an access drive, monopole, and associated ground equipment does not conflict with the future trail alignment; and WHEREAS, Verizon Wireless applied for a site plan, variance, and conditional use permit for a new wireless cell tower at 5725 Juneau Lane North; and WHEREAS, the planning commission reviewed the application on August 8, 2021 and the City Council approved the request on August 24, 2021; and WHEREAS, Verizon Wireless has requested the lease agreement be effective on January 1, 2022, with an initial term of five years and option to extend for four additional five year terms. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH, MINNESOTA that the communication site lease agreement with Cellco Partnership, doing business as Verizon Wireless, a Delaware General Partnership, for the City owned property at 5725 Juneau Lane is approved. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Mayor and City Manager are authorized to sign said agreement amendment. APPROVED by the City Council on this 14th day of December, 2021.
