HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council Resolution 2021-253 C ITY OF P LYMOUTH R ESOLUTION N O. 2021-253 R ESOLUTION A PPROVING D EVELOPMENT T ERMS FOR THE F ORMER F OUR S EASONS M ALL P ROPERTY AND A UTHORIZE R ELEASE OF R EQUEST FOR P ROPOSALS WHEREAS, the former Four Seasons Mall site, located at 4200 Lancaster Lane North, is at a prominent and visible intersection in the City; and WHEREAS, the site has sat nearly vacant and unused over the last ten years; and WHEREAS, the City the property is guided as Mixed Use Residential land use in the City’s 2040 Comprehensive Plan; and WHEREAS, the Council has approved two unsuccessful mixed use residential redevelopment proposals for the site since Four Seasons Mall was vacated; and WHEREAS, the City purchased the site in June 2021 to help facilitate the redevelopment of the site in a reasonable timeline and consistent with the goals and objectives of the Council; and WHEREAS, staff prepared a Request For Proposals for the redevelopment of the site which meets the existing land use guiding for the site; and WHEREAS, the Council has reviewed the development terms in the Request for Proposals for accuracy in reflecting the goals and objectives. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH, MINNESOTA that such development terms in the Request for Proposals, a copy of which is attached hereto, or available in the office of the Economic Development Manager, and made a part hereof, are hereby approved and the Economic Development Manager is authorized to release the Request for Proposals for consideration by developers or development teams. APPROVED by the City Council on this 24th day of August 2021.
