R ESOLUTION N O. 2021-225
R ESOLUTION A PPROVING THE A CQUISITION OF R EAL P ROPERTY
AND D ISPENSING WITH S TATUTORY R EQUIREMENTS FOR R EVIEW BY
P LANNING C OMMISSION OF C ONVEYANCE OF P ROPERTY
WHEREAS, Hennepin County (Forfeited Land), owner of land identified by Property ID
1211822130006, has offered the City of Plymouth to purchase said tax forfeited land consisting of 8.82 acres
in an amount of $1,227.90; and
WHEREAS, the property is described as:
Lot 5, Block 1, Ryan Business Center.
WHEREAS, the deed shall be created by Hennepin County; and
WHEREAS, it is in the public interest to purchase this property to allow for the long term protection
of the on-site wetland, allow for the placement of additional drainage and utility easements, and allow for
potential economic development opportunities for the redevelopment of an adjacent parcel; and
WHEREAS, Minn. Stat. § 462.356, subd. 2 requires that the Planning Commission review the City's
proposed acquisitions and dispositions of property; and
WHEREAS, Minn. Stat. § 462.356, subd. 2 provides for an exception from the Planning Commission
review requirement upon 2/3 vote of the City Council dispensing with the requirement and finding that the
acquisition or disposal of the property has no relationship to the comprehensive municipal plan.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH,
MINNESOTA, that the acquisition of the property has no relationship to the comprehensive municipal plan
and review by the Planning Commission of the acquisition of the Property is hereby dispensed with and the
purchase agreement in the amount of $1,227.90 plus associated legal and closing costs to successfully
acquire said property is approved.
