R ESOLUTION N O. 2021-151
R ESOLUTION A CCEPTING G RANT FROM THE M INNESOTA D EPARTMENT
OF H EALTH FOR W ELLHEAD P ROTECTION P LAN I MPLEMENTATION
WHEREAS, the City of Plymouth is a public water supplier that draws drinking water from the
Prairie Du Chien-Jordan, Prairie Du Chien, and Jordan aquifers; and
WHEREAS, to protect these groundwater sources the City of Plymouth developed a Wellhead
Protection Plan to manage potential contamination of these sources; and
WHEREAS, the City of Plymouth Wellhead Protection Plan includes specific actions to be taken
to reduce the risk of potential contamination or threats to this water supply; and
WHEREAS, the City applied for a grant from the Minnesota Department of Health to fund
completion of actions identified in their plan; and
WHEREAS, the City was notified that it had received funding in the amount of $8,250 to
implement actions in the Wellhead Protection Plan.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH,
MINNESOTA that;
1. The grant in the amount of $8,250 from the Minnesota Department of Health for Wellhead
Protection Plan Implementation is accepted.
2. The City Engineer is authorized and directed to enter into the grant agreement with the
Minnesota Department of Health for Wellhead Protection Plan Implementation.
APPROVED by the City Council on this 25th day of May, 2021.
