HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council Resolution 2021-121 C ITY OF P LYMOUTH R ESOLUTION N O. 2021-121 R ESOLUTION A PPROVING 2021 C OMPENSATION AND C LASSIFICATION P LAN FOR N ON-R EPRESENTED E MPLOYEES WHEREAS, the classification and compensation plan has been updated to align with the 2021 budget which has been submitted to the City Council for review and approval; and WHEREAS, the proposed 2021 pay plan reflects a 2.5% general pay increase for non-union staff; and WHEREAS, the proposed pay plan and policy changes have been funded under the appropriate line items in the 2021 budget as presented to the City Council. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH, MINNESOTA that the following items are approved and authorized: 1. Effective December 26, 2020, an additional 0.5% pay increase (2.5% total) for non-union employees in accordance with the “me too” clause approved by the City Council in December 2020. 2. An additional four hours of holiday pay per year for non-union employees. 3. Any unused compensatory time off hours be paid to non-union employees as taxable wages on the last day of the last pay period of each calendar year to ensure compliance with IRS rules. 4. Non-union employees be granted a one-time payment of 40 hours of paid parenting leave over their career with the city. 5. Implementation of a new STD program for non-union employees as described in the staff report. 6. Direct the city manager to proceed with the ongoing implementation and maintenance of the compensation plan and its components. APPROVED by the City Council on this 13th day of April, 2021.
