R ESOLUTION N O. 2021-120
R ESOLUTION A WARDING B ID AND A UTHORIZING F ACILITY I MPROVEMENTS AT THE
P LYMOUTH I CE C ENTER TO M C P HILLIPS B ROTHERS R OOFING C OMPANY (IC160002)
WHEREAS, on January 26, 2021, the City Council authorized the advertisement of bids for
facility improvements at the Plymouth Ice Center; and
WHEREAS, four bids were received and opened according to law on March 5, 2021; and
WHEREAS, the following bids were received and in compliance with the advertisement:

WHEREAS staff and HjS Architecture have reviewed the bids and recommend awarding the bid
to McPhillips Brothers Roofing Company; and
WHEREAS, McPhillips Brothers Roofing Company meets the City’s Responsible Bidder
Evaluation Policy; and
WHEREAS, construction is slated to begin August 2, 2021 with substantial completion by
December 3, 2021; and
WHEREAS, staff will receive separate quotes for the Blueline Room storefront window
replacement; and
WHEREAS, this project is scheduled in the 2021 Capital Improvement Plan for $1,200,000.
Funding for the entire project will come from surplus funds held in the General Capital Project Fund
(Fund 400) in the amount of $1,000,000 and the remaining $200,000 from the Plymouth Ice Center
fund reserves.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH,
MINNESOTA, that the bid is awarded to McPhillips Brothers Roofing Company for facility
improvements in the amount of $1,018,970.
APPROVED by the City Council on this 13th day of April, 2021.
