HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council Resolution 1980-880CITY OF PLYMOUTH Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a _regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Plymouth, Minnesota, was held on the 1st day of December, 1980 . The following members were present:rlayor DavenMrt, Councilmembers Hoyt, Neils and Schneider The following members were absent: None Councilmember Schneider introduced the following Resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 80-880 AUTHORIZING SUBMISSION OF CITY OF PLYMOUTH PROPOSED YEAR VII COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT ACTIVITIES AND PROGRAM AMOUNTS TO THE PLANNING AREA CITIZEN ADVISORY COMMITTEE IN ACCORD WITH THE HOUSING AND COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT ACT OF 1974 WHEREAS, the City of Plymouth has executed a joint powers agreement with Hennepin County thereby agreeing to participate in a Grant Application under the Urban County designation provided for in the Housing and Community Development Act of 1974; and, WHEREAS, a grant application is being prepared requesting funds to undertake a commun- ity development program, including appropriate citizen participation, goal establish- ment and implementation plans and procedures; and, WHEREAS, the Housing and Redevelopment Authority held a public hearing on November 25, 1980, regarding the expenditure of the Year VII funds for the City of Plymouth and has recommended several projects for expenditure of funds; and, WHEREAS, the City Council has reviewed the recommendations of the Housing and Redevelopment Authority and of the City Staff regarding the proposed activities and program amounts for Year VII; and, WHEREAS, current procedural regulations require that the proposed activities and grant amounts be referred to the designated Planning Area Citizen Advisory Committee established by Hennepin County for review and comment; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH, MINNESOTA, that it should and hereby does direct the administrative staff to for- ward to the Planning Area Citizen Advisory Committee the following activities and respective proposed dollar amounts for the Year VII entitlement period: ACTIVITY PROGRAM AMOUNT 1. Direct Benefit Program for Low/Moderate Income Housing Assistance -- Land Write-down $98,000 2. Housing Rehabilitation Program $40,000 TOTAL $138,000 The motion for the adoption of the foregoing Resolution was duly seconded by Cquacijmembpr SG nPidpr , and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Mayor Davenport, Councilmembers Hoyt Neils and Schneider The following voted against or abstained: None Whereupon the Resolution was declared duly pas.
