HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council Resolution 1980-348CITY OF PLYMOUTH Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a re ular meeting of the City Council of the City of Plymouth,-nnesota was a on the 27th day of May , 1980 The following members ere present: Acting Mayor Davenpor ouncilmemUE'rs Hoyt, Neils and Schneider The following members were absent: Mayor Hunt rnuncilm-tuber moved its adoption: Schneider introduced the following Resolution and RESOLUTION NO. 80- 348 REQUESTING EXTENSION OF COMPREHENSIVE PLAN SUBMITTAL DEADLINE IN ACCORDANCE WITH METROPOLITAN LAND PLANNING ACT WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Land Planning Act, Minnesota statutes Chapters 473.851- 473.872, required the City to prepare a comprehensive plan in accordance with laws 1976, Chapter 127, Sections 1 to 23, and to submit said plan to the Metropolitan Council for review; and, WHEREAS, said plan should be submitted to the Metropolitan Council on or before July 1, 1980; and, WHEREAS, Metropolitan Land Planning Act requires that local governmental units shall submit their proposed plans to adjacent governmental units and affected school districts for review and comment at least six months prior to submission of the plan to the Metropolitan Council; and, WHEREAS, the Plymouth Comprehensive Land Use Guide Plan and supporting plans have been reviewed and updated during the past several years with the intent of sub- mitting the updated comprehensive plan in accordance with the Metropolitan Land Planning Act; and, WHEREAS, the updated comprehensive plan will be distributed to adjacent governmental units and affected school districts on or before July 1, 1980 for review in accord- ance with the Metropolitan Land Planning Act; WHEREAS, Chapter 473.869 Minnesota Statutes provides that local governmental units may request that the Metropolitan Council extend the time for fulfilling the requirements of the Metropolitan Land Planning Act; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH, MINNESOTA, that it should and hereby does request the Metropolitan Council to extend the time for fulfilling the requirements of laws 1976. Chapter 127, Sections 1 to 23 for a period of up to six months from July 1, 1980 to allow for the required distribution of the comprehensive plan to adjacent governmental units and to affected school districts; FURTHER, that City Staff is hereby directed to prepare and submit to the Metropolitan Council in support of this request, the necessary documentation demonstrating the circumstances and conditions necessitating the requested extension of time.
