Minnesota was held on the 5th day of May , 19 80. The following members were present: Mayor Hunt Councilmembers Davenport, o tNeils The follow ng me ers were absent: None Councilmember Hoyt introduced the following Resolution and move its adopti on: RESOLUTION NO. 80-313 RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING CITY MANAGER TO REGULATE USAGE OF MUNICIPAL WATER WHEREAS, Section 720.45 of Plymouth City Code provides that the Council may by resolution regulate usage of municipal water for the purposes of lawn and garden sprinkling, irrigation, car washing, air conditioning and other such uses; and WHEREAS, fluctuations in municipal water usage may be affected by a number of factors, including, climatic conditions, day of week and time of year; and WHEREAS, during periods of substantially high municipal water usage continued availability of water for essential fire service purpose must be guaranteed 10 by limiting less essential uses; and WHEREAS, the City Council desires to provide for a quick and dependable method for calling for such municipal water use restrictions should they become necessary. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Plymouth that it should and hereby does authorize the City Manager, following advice from the City Engineer, to institute restrictions and limitations on hours and days of use of municipal water for lawn and garden sprinkling, irrigation, car washing, air conditioning or other such uses, when in the judgment of the City Manager such action is necessary to assure the continued provision of essential water delivery capability, protect the water delivery and production system, compensate for system breakdowns or other causes of equal magnitude. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that such limitations shall be publicized insofar as possible through local newspaper, radio and television broadcasts.
