Cptjn�ilmember Hoyt introduced the following Resolution and moved
its adoption:
RESOLUTION NO. 80- 100
RESOLUTION CALLING A SPECIAL ELECTION FOR
THE ISSUANCE OF GENERAL OBLIGATION PARK
IMPROVEMENT BONDS
WHEREAS, the City Council has received petitions signed by voters of the City
of Plymouth requesting the Council to call a special election for the purpose
of determining whether or not the City should issue its general obligation bonds
in the amount of $2,950,000 for the improvement and development of public parks
and playgrounds and,
WHEREAS, the City Clerk has determined that said petitions have been signed by a
number of voters equal to 20% of the votes cast at the last regular city election
and,
WHEREAS, pursuant to the provisions of Minn. Stat. 205.10, the Council is obliged
to call such a special election.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
PLYMOUTH AS FOLLOWS:
1. The proposition for the issuance of said bonds shall be submitted to the
voters of the City at a special election to be held on Tuesday, March 18,
1980. The election shall be held and conducted in accordance with the laws
of the State of Minnesota relating to special elections in statutory cities.
The precincts, polling places and judges for said election shall be the same
as those established for the last preceding regular city election.
2. The City Clerk shall cause a Notice of Election in the form attached as
Exhibit "A" to be posted and published as required by law as follows: Notice
of Election shall be published in the official newspaper at least two weeks
prior to the election; the notice toyether with a sample ballot shall be
posted in each polling place at least ten days prior to the election; and a
sample ballot shall be posted in the Clerk's office for public inspection
at least four days prior to the election.
3. The polling places for the election shall be those established by Council
Resolution No. 79-677 and are located as follows:

The judges of the election shall be those appointed for the last regular
municipal election. The polls shall be open at 7:00 o'clock A.M. and
shall remain open until 8:00 o'clock P.M.
4. The City Clerk is authorized and directed to prepare printed ballots for
the election in substantially the following form:

SHALL THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH ISSUE ITS GENERAL

MONEY FOR THE IMPROVEMENT AND DEVELOPMENT OF
PUBLIC PARKS AND PLAYGROUNDS?

in favor of the foregoing proposition shall make
a cross mark (X) in the square opposite the word
YES. Voters desiring to vote against the foregoing
propositions shall place a cross mark (X) opposite
the word NO.

5. The City Council shall meet in the Council Chambers on Wednesday the 19th
day of March, 1980 at 4:30 o'clock P.M. to canvass the results of the
election and to declare the results thereof.
