RESOLLiION NO. 79-940
APPROVING CEiAN� IN 1980 LEGAL f1OL11rAY:;
WHEREAS, the 1979 Legislature has amended MSA645.44, Subdivision 5, to enable
political subdivisions to determine whether to observe either Christopher
Columbus Day or the Friday after Thanksgiving as official holidays; and
WHEREAS, the City Manager has recommended that the Friday after Thanksgiving
Day should be observed as one of the nine statutory holidays in the City of
Plyrouth;
NOW, Tti£REFORE, BE IT HEF.EBY RESOLVED BY TEE CITY COUNCTL OF TETE CITY OF
PLYMOUTH, MINNESOTA that effective in 1980 the City of Plymouth shall
observe the Friday after Thanksgiving Day as a holiday in lieu of Christopher
Columbus Day in accordance with Chapter 332 of the Laws of 1979.
