RESOLUTION NO. 79-821
AWARDING BID FOR ELEVEN 1980 SUBCOMPACT PASSENGER CARS
TO GELCO CORPORATION
WHEREAS, pursuant to State Statute specifications were prepared and bids solicited
for the purchase of eleven subcompact passenger cars, and
WHEREAS, in accordance with public advertisement, bids were opened on December 11,
1979, and
WHEREAS, the following bids were submitted:
North Star Dodge Gelco Corporation
Omni Horizon or Omni
Base Bid (11 vehicles) $55,715.00 $54,460.22 (Note 1)
WHEREAS, after a thorough analysis, the bid of Gelco Corporation for eleven 1980
Plymouth Horizons or Dodge Omnis does conform to the City specifications;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH,
MINNESOTA that it should and hereby does:
1. Award bid for the purchase of eleven 1980 subcompact passenger cars to Gelco
Corporation in the amount of $62,945.04 (24 month lease/purchase).
2. That the City Manager be directed to enter into a contract with Gelco Corpora-
tion for the purchase of these vehicles.
3. That the City Manager be directed to proceed to dispose of nine current City
vehicles through public sale, private negotiations or other appropriate means
to provide a maximum return on these vehicles to the City.
(Note 1): This amount must be financed over a 24 month period with monthly
payments of $2,622.72 (total = $62,945.04) or a36 month period
with monthly payments of $1,809.22 (total = $65,131.92).
The motion for the adoption of the foregoing Resolution was duly seconded by
Neils and upon vote being taken thereon, the
