Councilmember Spaeth introduced the following Resolution and
moved its adoption:
RESOLUTION NO. 79 - 751
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY MANAGER TO ENTER, INTO A CONTRACT
WITH MINNESOTA DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC SAFETY FOR THE PROVISION OF
HOTEL FIRE PREVENTION INSPECTIONS
WHEREAS, the State Department of Public Safety has historically provided hotel fire
prevention inspections, and
WHEREAS, to improve fire
prevention inspection services available to local hotel propritors
the State has proposed an agreement whereby minicipalities will assume responsibility
for this function in return for certain training and consultant services provided
at no cost by the State, and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Plymouth desires to provide high quality
life safety protection to residents and property owners within the City;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH,
MINNESOTA, that it should and hereby does authorize the Mayor and City Manager to
enter into an agreement with the Minnesota Department of Public Safety for the
purpose of assuming responsibility for hotel fire prevention inspection and State
sponsored training and consulting services.
The motion for the adoption of the foregoing Resolution was duly seconded by'
