R ESOLUTION A WARDING Y ARD W ASTE S ITE G RINDING B ID
FOR 2021-2022 TO S YLVESTER C USTOM G RINDING, I NC.
WHEREAS, the City Yard Waste Site has been in operation since the early 1990s and is licensed
by Hennepin County as a Solid Waste Facility; and
WHEREAS, the site is open for Plymouth, Medicine Lake, Wayzata, and Long Lake residents; and
WHEREAS, the 10-year average annual attendance is 42,711, with 2020 being the most visited
year on record with 64,988 visits; and
WHEREAS, bids were opened on November 20, 2020 and two bids were received; and
WHEREAS, applying the 2020 tons to the grinding and hauling bids submitted, Sylvester Custom
Grinding, Inc. bid totaled $146,720 with Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community totaling $170,738
per the bid tabulation below:
Sylvester Grinding
Grinding and Hauling Wood $20 per ton
Hauling Leaves $10 per ton
Shakopee Mdewankanton Sioux Community
Grinding Wood $10 per ton
Hauling Wood $10 per ton
Hauling Leaves $20 per ton
Hauling Grinding By-Products $18 per ton
Payment for Processed Wood $2 per ton
Payment for Leaves $2 per ton
WHEREAS, Sylvester Custom Grinding, Inc.’s qualifications and work performance are compliant
with the City’s Responsible Bidder qualification policy.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH,
MINNESOTA, that the Yard Waste Site Grinding Bid for 2020-2021 is awarded to Sylvester Custom
Grinding, Inc.
APPROVED by the City Council on this 12th of January, 2021.
