Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a regular meeting of
the City Council of the City of Plymouth, Minnesota was held on the
17th day of September , 1979 . The following members were
present: mayor Hunt, Gouncilmembers Uavenpor , Neils and Spaeth

Councilmember Spaeth introduced the following Resolution and
movesits adoption:
RESOLUTION NO. 79-584
ESTABLISHING SPEED ZONE AT PILGRIM LANE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL AND
AUTHORIZING INSTALLATION OF TIMER -ACTUATED LIGHTS ON SPEED ZONE SIGNS
WHEREAS, the City Council has received a report recommending the establishment
of a school speed zone on Pilgrim Lane between 37th and 38th Avenues North;
and
WHEREAS, the Council deems that the creation of such a speed zone is needed
to protect the public health, safety and welfare of young people attending
Pilgrim Lane Elementary School;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH,
MINNESOTA that pursuant to MSA Section 169.14 that a 25 m.p.h. speed zone is
hereby created for Pilgrim Lane between 37th and 38th Avenues North, which
streets are adjacent to Pilgrim Lane Elementary School.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Manager be authorized to install timer -
actuated amber lights on such speed zone signs providing that the Independent
School District No. 281 share equally in such costs.
The motion for the adoption of the foregoing Resolution was duly seconded by
Councilmember Neils , and upon vote being taken thereon, the
followlng voted in favor t ereo ayor Hunt, Councilmembers Davenport,
Neils and Spaeth
