moved its adoption:
RESOLUTION NO. 79-403
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER INTO AN AGREEMENT WITH THE
AMERICAN RED CROSS DESIGNATING THE LOWER LEVEL EXPANSION AREA OF CITY CENTER
AS A DESIGNATED MASS SHELTER IN THE EVENT OF DISASTER
WHEREAS, Minneapolis Chapter of the American Red Cross is working cooperatively
with western Hennepin County Municipal officials to designate emergency shelter
facilities to provide temporary housing and care for victims of major disaster,
and
WHEREAS, the City of Plymouth requires such facilities to protect Plymouth
residents should such a disaster occur;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
PLYMOUTH, MINNESOTA, that it should and hereby does enter into an agreement
with the Minnesota Chapter of the American Red Cross to disignate the
lower level expansion area of Plymouth City Center, 3400 Plymouth Boulevard,
as a major shelter facility for Plymouth residents in the event of major
disaster in the City.
The motion for the adoption of the foregoing Resolution was duly seconded by
and upon vote being taken thereon, the
