The following members were present: Mayor Hunt Councilmembers Hoyt, Neils Seibold and Spaeth The following mempers were a sent: None Councilmember Hoyt introduced the following Resolution and movedrits a option: RESOLUTION NO. 79-270 ESTABLISHING SCHOOL SPEED ZONE AT 'SUNSET HILL ELEMENTARY SCHOOL AND AUTHORIZING INSTALLATION OF SPEED ZONE SIGNS WHEREAS, the City Council has received a report dated May 19, 1979 from the City Manager, which report is accompanied by a study conducted by a committee from the Sunset Hill Elementary School; and WHEREAS, the City Council has reviewed this report concerning the safety of pedestrians and motorists on the public streets adjacent to the Sunset Hill Elementary School; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH, MINNESOTA that the City Council request the Hennepin County Board of Commissioners to establish a 25 m.p.h. speed zone adjacent to the Sunset Hilt Elementary School property along County Road 15 pursuant to M.S.A. Section 169.14. FURTHER that the County promptly install the appropriate signs advising motorists of the establishment of said 25 m.p.h. speed zone. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the County, in conjunction with the City of Plymouth and Independent School District No. 284, jointly undertake the installation of flashing lights and timer -actuated speed zone signs, such installation to be completed by September, 1979.
