The following members were present: d Soaeth The following members were a sent: Councilmember Seibold oup ilr t-mopreth introduced the following Resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 79 - 76 RESOLUTION SUPPORTING HENNEPIN COUNTY'S PURCHASE OF ADDITIONAL PROPERTY FOR MEDICINE LAKE REGIONAL PARK WHEREAS, the City Council received a report from the Hennepin County Park Reserve District lidi;ating the County's intent to acquire a triangular parcel of land lying north of existing County Road 9 and south of proposed County Road 9, and WHEREAS, the addition of this land to the Park will allow for the inclusion of additional recreational amenities in the park, and WHEREAS, the exist nce of a Regional Park in Plymouth will enhance recreational opportunities to residents of Plymouth and the Metropolitan Area; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITU OF PLYMOUTH, MINNESOTA, that it should and hereby does: 1. Support Hennepin County in the acruisition of a triangular parcel of land for Park purposes lying north of existing County Road 9 and south of propos(— County Road 9. 2. Urge that the Co.:nty advise citizens who own land in the acquisition area that the district is moving ahead with its acquisition program. 3. Recommends the Park access road from new County Road 9 be located immediately adjacent to the eastern edge of the proposed new acquisition to facilitate safe and appropriate access to the facility as well as act as a buffer between Park Property and residential land to the east. The motion for the adoption of the foregoing Resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember hu tand upon vote being taken thereon, the following vote n avor t ergo ; Mayor Hunt, Councilmembers Hoyt.
