Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a regular meeting of
the City Council of the City of Plymouth, Minnesota was held on the
15th day of Januar , 19 79. The following members were
present: Mayor Hunt, ounce members Hot Neils Seibold and Spaeth
The following me ers were a sent: None
Councilmember Neils introduced the following Resolution and
moved its adoption:
RESOLUTION NO. 79-52
SUPPORTING THE CITY MANAGER'S RECOMMENDED COURSE OF ACTION FOR SECURING
OAKWOOD ELEMENTARY SCHOOL SITE FOR COMMUNITY PLAYFIELD PURPOSES
WHEREAS, in a memorandum dated January 12, 1979, the City Manager outlined
a course of action for securing the Oakwood Elementary School site for com-
munity playfield purposes, and
WHEREAS, the City Manager's recommendations are beneficial to Plymouth residents,
the City, and the School District, and
WHEREAS, the establishment of a community playfield at the Oakwood site expands
the recreational facilities available to residents within the School District
and the City;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH,
MINNESOTA that it hereby supports the recommended course of action contained in
the City Manager's memorandum dated January 12, 1979 providing for fee acquisition
of the property.
FURTHER that it urges members of Independent School District No. 284 to join
with the City in concluding an agreement for the sale and subsequent construction
of the Oakwood community playfield site.
The motion for the adoption of the foreg',ing Resolution was duly seconded by
Councilmember Seibold , and upon vote being taken thereon, the

Seibold and Spaeth
