HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council Resolution 1978-862OITY OF PLYMOUTH • Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Plymouth, Minnesota was held on the 19th day of December 1978 . The following members were present: Mayor Hunt, Councilmembers Ro t, Neils and Spaeth The following members were abs nt: ounce mem er Seibold Councilmember Spaeth introduced the following Resolution and moved Its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 78-862 APPROVING SNOWMOBILE CORRIDOR ROUTING, ACCESS POINTS AND AGREEMENTS WITH MINNESOTA DEPT. OF TRANSPORTATION AND NORTHWEST TRAILS ASSOC. WHEREAS, the City of Plymouth has an adopted Trail System Plan indicating a snowmobile use corridor along Trunk Highway 55 as well as Niagara Lane, and WHEREAS, the Park and Recreation Advisory Commission and staff recommend entering into a Limited Use Agreement with Minnesota Department of Transportation and the Northwest Trails Association, and WHEREAS, staff has been directed to explore the development of the noted corridors, especially the Trunk Highway 55 corridor, and WHEREAS, the City of Brooklyn Park and the Northwest Trails Association have received a Department of Natural Resources Grant for the development and maintenance of snowmobile corridors, and WHEREAS, the Minnesota Department of Transportatio(; has approved the development of the corridor as noted in the Park and Recreation Director's report of December 14, 1978, and WHEREAS, by seeking corridor development and maintenance along Trunk Highway 55 and Niagara Lane, the City of Plymouth has no financial liability for corri?:)r acquisition, development, construction or maintenance; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH, MINNESOTA that: 1. The City of Plymouth enter into a Limited Use Agreement with the Minnesota Department of Transportation and the Northwest Trails Association for the development, construction and maintenance of a snowmobile corridor as identified in the Park and Recreation Director's memo of December 14, 1978. 2. That the Northwest Trails Association present to the Director of Park and Recreation a valid certificate of insurability identifying liability limits.
